THE FIVE DAY FALCONRY COURSE
THE POLICE WILDLIFE LIAISON OFFICERS COURSE

THE FIVE DAY FALCONRY COURSE

The Five Day Course covers:

  • Handling of Hawks, Falcons, Eagles and Owls
  • Care and Management
  • Diet
  • Falconry Equipment
  • Aviary Design
  • Health and Disease
  • Training
  • Flying
  • Hunting
  • Telemetry

The week is hard work and requires concentration, but by the end of the course those partaking should be experienced enough to face training a totally untrained bird without too many problems. There is a good deal of handling of birds and flying them all outside and often in inclement weather.

Training is given by qualified National Birds of Prey Centre Staff. The birds used are those trained and flown at the Centre, which gives you the opportunity of flying several species. The course is held at the Centre with wonderful facilities, instructors and surroundings.

Cost
The cost of the Course is £450.00 per person. B&B accommodation is available locally and enquiries can be made with the office. The Centre also has a coffee shop where lunch and snacks can be purchased.

Booking Details
A deposit of £100.00 is required to secure the booking and an invoice will be sent for the balance approximately 1 month before the start date of the Course.

If you would like to secure a place on a Course please call the office on 0870 990 1992, we except most credit cards or please send a cheque, making sure to give your name and contact details.

POLICE WILDLIFE LIAISON OFFICERS COURSE (PWLO)

The course is run at the Centre with all instruction given by our traines staff. The wide variety of birds here allows us to make the training very thorough and prepares the Offices to deal with a variety of birds, whether they be rescued or confiscated. The same course is also used to train RSPB and RSPCA officers. The course covers all aspects of identification and safe handling. Cost of the course on application to the office.

If you would like to secure a place on a Course please call the office on 0870 990 1992.
